Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene UHMWPE Dock Fender Pads
Product Description
Polyceramoplast pads for dock fenders reduce friction in the hull/fender pair, thereby minimizing damage to the ship's hull. 
They are manufactured from modified HDPE (PE500) and UHMWPE (PE1000 / PE9000).
 
Even without light stabilization, UHMWPE degrades extremely slowly under UV radiation: no more than 1 mm per year. 
Full corrosion resistance in seawater. 
Density ~0.94–0.96 g/cm³ (buoyant; the pad remains on the surface if dropped into water). 
Highest wear resistance among commercial plastics (widely used as lining in ore concentrators). 
Environmentally safe and biologically inert; combustion produces only carbon, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.
 
Key grade differences:
 
HDPE / PE500 — higher tensile, bending, and compressive strength; resistant to shear loads and detachment from fastenings during mooring.
UHMWPE / PE1000 / PE9000 — low coefficient of friction and enhanced wear resistance; optimal for applications involving mainly sliding contact with the ship's hull at the dock.
